Sky Harbor

My Wip and Entry for  ImagineFx Monthly challenge 'Sky Harbour'

Wanted try something new and check my skill with landscapes. From the very begin i had the idea of 'Sky in the harbor'  not as many other participants 'harbor located in the sky'.

Started as always with small thumbnails:  chalk brush+sky picture

Made around 12-20 of them and picked the 6 best ideas.
 Left> Mirror-like plates surrounding the harbor.
 Right > Mirrors covering the sea ground
 VI> Something personal - a girl sleeping on mirrors.

note: number all thumbnails and sketches, it's easier to show which one you are talking about.

The Idea for mirrors came up thanks to my friend Leo who gave me book  with a novel called 'Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius' by J.Borges. As in the novel I wanted create a world  which is different. what if the habitats can't build a harbor in the sky? Let's the sky bring down. Something like this.

I took the III sketch and started to redraw it. Resized , made new layers and started to add details.

Armor

Since my  sketch book is B3 size, barely half of the pages can be scanned ~-~ and i don't really draw  a lot on paper. I usually design it already in photoshop.

When I started draw medival- like armors I checked  the internet for the build of such armor. Is easier to design new stuff  if you know how the real thing looks like.   I also try to keep same design for each part of the metal cloth.

Lime

There we go~ First post.

I want  keep this blog as my digital sketchbook to the arts I'm uploading on DeviantArt. Since there's not much place for every sketch and doodle I draw. I will try do it here.


Decided to  write more info's about my recent art 'Lime'


I made this OC girl  around 10-12 years ago, as the main character for my first comic :'D   Was cleaning up some garbage last week and found the old draws, thus decided to remake it.

Had a lot fun with this redraw. I had to keep same character [left the glare in her eyes] yet make it more in my current style.  


The background for the Lime's story lies in a world dominated by the nature. So i decided for leaf patterns and more brighter green colors, also wanted add this back light which would make her more shiny.


In my old notes i had written that Lime was wearing headband, white top and jeans, also she had a necklace with glowing crystal. ^-^ Had the most fun with designing her new clothes. 


I'm still proud of all my kiddy sketches :D I think I will redraw some other ideas too.
